As a therapist, I work with late teens to adults who experience anxiety, depressive symptoms, trauma, and/or mild to moderate eating disorder symptoms. In my sessions, I use somatic practices involving movement, breathwork and meditative techniques alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and psychoeducation. Through these interventions, clients can discover an innate calm, peace, and centeredness free from the external factors that tend to disrupt it. It is my intention to help your body remember this state of being which is a reflection of who you really are underneath it all. In our therapeutic relationship, you can expect a fellow human sitting across from you rather than an expert who thinks they know better. My goal is to serve as a temporary guide as you develop the strength, self-trust, self-acceptance, and resilience to become your own healer.

I take pride in forming sincere and positive relationships with my clients while inspiring them to be brave enough to take risks and live their lives fully. A favorite quote of mine is: You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore. This belief guides my practice as I encourage clients to challenge themselves and find confidence. After working with me clients have expressed feeling self-empowered. Children I have worked with report doing better both socially and academically.

As a former experiential educator, I have a strong knowledge of human behavior and have helped contribute to major transformations in my former students lives. These past experiences laid the foundation for my work as a therapist. I have a deep belief in the power of therapy, self-reflection, empowerment, and examining behaviors to help determine whether those issues are prohibiting people from living lives of peace, self-knowledge, and fulfillment. I chose to become a therapist in order to provide a space for people to do just that. I have seen the power of therapy in my own life and the lives of others, and want to spend my life sharing this gift.

Growing up in San Antonio, Texas, I was surrounded by my large Mexican family and lived in a city rich with Latinx culture. When I was young, my mother transferred from Air Forces bases which landed us in a suburb north of Oklahoma City. My family had to assimilate to our new surroundings, and I often felt othered by my peers. I never felt like I belonged in either culture, which I struggled with in my teenage years until early adulthood. I have personally witnessed the experiences of immigration and multigenerational trauma as a second-generation immigrant. With the stigma of mental health in my community, I watched the cycle of trauma occur through the generations and how the intersectionality of these systems perpetuated these cycles. .

Growing up in an Albanian/Muslim family, it became clear to me that my desires for myself were directly in conflict with cultural norms and expectations. This placed me in a position where if I honored my authenticity I risked damaging attachments with my community. This internal conflict resulted in a deep depression and anxiety around maintaining a secret I was withholding from the world.

I am a trained, licensed and experienced clinician with a passion for helping individuals overcome mental health challenges. Many years back I experienced the death of a loved one which immersed me in depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. I found it difficult to navigate life and cope with these challenges. Eventually, I moved from Ukraine to the United States and found it the perfect opportunity for a fresh start. I began engaging in practices such as yoga, meditation, and journaling which played a pivotal role in my self-healing. As I found more peace and balance in my life I realized that I wanted to help others who were dealing with their own mental health issues.

One of the most impactful of my trips was my visit to India. There I accomplished my lifelong dream of completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training. I got to visit the Himalayas and learn meditation and breathwork while at a monastery. I also worked with the LHA Charitable Trust Institute for Social Work in India and facilitated the transition of Tibetan refugees by providing guidance, supportive counseling, empowerment, and advocacy services. Throughout my travels, I realized that we are all humans with similar feelings, struggles, and dreams no matter where we are from.
