Andrew Aherne

MD, Clinical Director, Chelsea

A Brooklyn native, Andrew earned a degree in visual arts at New York University. A parallel passion for healing influenced the pursuit of a career in medicine, and ultimately in the emergency department. For over a decade, Andrew cared for a broad spectrum of patients at Kings County and Downstate Hospitals, as a resident, attending, and emergency ultrasound specialist. There, he saw the most powerful patient results when compassionate care met evidence-based medicine. His own artistic orientation fostered a dedication to preserving and supporting the humanity of the patients he served in the same communities where he was born and raised.
